What is the Hagia Sophia and why is it important?

There are many important structures in Istanbul. But this one – commissioned by emperor Justinian, consecrated as a church in 537. Converted to a mosque by Mehmet the Conqueror in 1453. And declared a museum by Atatürk in 1935. It surpasses the rest because of its architecture, history, religious importance and extraordinary beauty.

Boston: Protest for Palestine

Bostonians standing in solidarity with Palestine gathered in Copley Square before marching to the State House in 2014.

Protestors were calling for an end to unconditional U.S. aid to Israel and an end to what they describe as the “siege” of Gaza.

Some Jewish demonstrators attending the rally said Israeli actions were not consistent with the tenets of their faith.

Head Of The Charles Regatta Rowing Photos

I'm standing on the Boston University bridge, where The Head Of The Charles Regatta starts. The boats are lining up in the order of their numbers with the Boston skyline at the distance. It’s an exciting moment as the crews begin in their “high strokes.”

Why is film photography so popular?

One day, while cleaning out my drawer, I found my old camera. I picked it up all nostalgic when I noticed there was still film in it. Curious as to what's in the time capsule, I had it developed straight away. Here's what I found. After many years in the old camera, the film had aged, but I still love these images. I love them because it's refreshingly authentic whimsical textures.

I still have the old Nikon 35mm film SLR camera. I bought it during the university years when I started to fall in love with photography. Back then, I shot in black and whites, mostly because I could use the university lab to develop/print my films. I don't use the camera anymore. I replaced it long ago with a high-tech digital camera. I'm not sure I'd call it progress.

What Is Christmas Like In Bangkok, Thailand?

Outdoor Christmas decoration. During the daytime and the nighttime.

A chandelier shaped like an upside-down Christmas tree all lit up. Nothing says Christmas like a little Santa cap on your dinner table.
